Chernega Construction is the best contracting company my wife and I have ever worked with. Paul and his crew were phenomenal from day 1. We had a very sizable project that needed completed on a 5000 square foot house that was completely demoed on the inside. Paul and his crew would start at 7am most days and if I had to guess I would say they worked 10 hours per day on average. They would also work on Saturdays and Sundays on a regular basis and did whatever it took to complete the project on time. I think what stood out with Paul was his communication skills. He would be with us on a regular basis and always was willing to work around our schedule even if it meant meeting in the evening or several times I met with him at 6:45 am. Paul was also quick to respond to texts or phone calls which is not common traits these days. One other aspect I would like to touch on would be his fairness. He was very fair priced and any time we wanted to add anything to the job description he was more than fair and accommodating. Paul also surrounds himself with subcontractors that have the same work ethic and communication skills. I couldn’t say enough things about his electrician Denny, and also his Plaster Mike Merola. Eric Showers did our HVAC project and he was also awesome. Thanks to JT his assistant also. Paul also added very valuable input anytime we were getting frustrated with what to do with certain designs and layouts regarding the project. He really was instrumental in guiding us on what to do and what not to do and for that we are very grateful. I would like to just say thank you to all of Paul’s workers too and I apologize if I forgot anyone but thanks Jason, Will, Kurt, Dave, Doc, Frank, Ron, Caleb, and Tommy the excavator and Kurt the painter.

The work went extremely well. Construction was coordinated in a timely matter. The contract’s crew and subcontractors were all competent and courteous. The completed project exceeded our expectations. We are thoroughly enjoying all the alterations.

It went really well, he listened to what we wanted and was really easy to work with. Cleaned up after they were done every day. The workers were very kind and courteous. Very meticulous and spot on with details. Incorporated a different brand of railing/decking into our plan because Trex quit carrying the aluminum architectural balusters that I wanted, in doing so he had to do some configuring on his end on how to incorporate the two brands. But he worked his magic. The deck turned out FANTASTIC!!!!!! We had received so many compliments on our new deck and we love it. Great job Chernega Construction, we will highly recommend you guys.

They were tremendous. I’ve worked with a lot of contractors over my time in the industry and had nothing that compares to him and his crew. He was a fantastic company to deal with and could not have asked for better. His communication is excellent and his follow up care is great. His pricing is extremely competitive and worth every cent.

The renovations took longer to begin than I expected because Paul Chernega wouldn’t begin until everything that was ordered was on site. This was genius because when the work began, it was nonstop until completion. Since this was the first time I ever hired a general contractor for a project. I was quite nervous about everything!!! However, Paul’s crew and subs were excellent, very professional and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of the day. They were here every day and there was no standing around. Of course there were some glitches, but they were all addressed and remedied to my satisfaction. This project did cost a lot of money (from my perspective) however, it was a lot of work and the results were worth every penny!!! Not only would I recommend Chernega Construction to my friends and family, I have asked Paul to bid two more jobs for me.

It went very well, on time, on budget, excellent workmanship. Great attention to detail, would highly recommend him to anyone looking to build or remodel.

Description of work: Paul built us 2 houses, a pole building.

I have a true customized house that is unique and not at all builder grade. It suits our lifestyle and needs. He also talked us out of an addition of a mother in law suite for the what if our parents would need to move in with us and made our basement ready to be quickly converted to accommodate an elderly parent needing to live with us. Paul had great ideas and contacts. He helped remodel our previous house to be put on the market, gut and redo our new home and now doing some outside work; new deck, roof over the deck, etc.

Paul was very open and helpful with all my out of the box ideas. Example I wanted old barn beams as a railing. Paul found a place that had old barn beams and made my dream a reality. I also didn’t want standard contractor grade doors and trim. He worked with me and my ideas and with some compromise made the home of my dreams!

The final project turned out better than we could have imagined. The crew was extremely tidy and polite. They worked quick.

We needed a new roof before winter, and we were glad we called Chernega Construction.  They were committed and loyal to the project and we had our new roof in time for the harsh winter months.

They did a complete rebuild of our bathroom and it looks fantastic! The word my fiancee used to describe the finished product was “beautiful” and we couldn’t be more pleased with the job they did.

Paul’s initial estimate was lower than other contractors I contacted, including a couple very well known bathroom remodelers, and he did more for less. He stayed on budget and did not add any additional costs.

As mentioned above, they did a complete rebuild from top to bottom including demo, a new sub floor and floor, drywall, installation of a new tub, sink/vanity, toilet and medicine cabinet, lighting and even installed a vent through the roof. They also did a great paint job. They completed the work in a timely manner, cleaned up nightly and were very respectful of my property.

I would absolutely hire them again for my next home project and highly recommend their services.
